The Start of a New Year - 2015

Welcome to our first company newsletter of 2015.

We hope you enjoyed the holiday period and we wish you a prosperous new year.

UV-Guard Australia are looking forward to working with you during 2015, as we continue to be your trusted water treatment partner.

Introducing the UVG SLF-Series

The SLF-Series is an innovative combined filtration and UV disinfection system, for impurity removal and sterilisation at recommended UV dose rates.

With three models in the series, there is an SLF system suitable for flow rates of 35 lpm to 75 lpm.

The SLF is ideal for tank water treatment but can also be used in any other application where the combination of filtration and disinfection is required.

An SLF75 has been installed and tested onsite at a large family home in NSW. Our customer approached us following issues associated with the condition of his

tank water, and the inability of his 'under the sink' system to manage impurities. He also wanted a system to provide safe potable water to all water fittings in the house.

We saw this as an ideal test site for our SLF-Series and it has proved successful. The family have reported vast improvements to water clarity and taste. Our customer also appreciates the added peace of mind provided by the UV disinfection system.

UVG SLF-Series Key Features

  • Pre-assembled for ease of installation
  • Heavy duty 10" or 20" filter housings
  • 316 grade stainless steel UV reactor
  • Indoor or IP65 rated outdoor power supplies

UV in the News - Ballast Water Treatment

Ballast water is used in shipping vessels to provide stability. Due to it being pumped in and out of the sea at different locations around the world, there is risk of bacteria and viruses damaging the environment they are introduced to.

An article within Vol. 16 No. 2 of the IUVA News promotes UV disinfection for ballast water as being the preferred choice, "…ultraviolet based systems are the safest and simplest and are the preferred choice of vessel operators."
